A Prayer for Growing Deep

God you are a gardener of love and hope and life.

You tend to the soil of our lives and seek to grow good things in us, through us, and around us. You root us to your heart, anchoring to the inner most parts of our being a source of eternal love.

Prune in us all that is a barrier to your presence so that our lives would be fertile soil, rich and teaming with a life on mission with your Spirit.

People of God, in the garden of your lives, where are there thorns and thickets and weeds? What are the things you need to prune or lay aside today for God to grow love in you?

God grow your love deep in us.

People of God, where in the garden of your lives, is the soil rich and ready for your tending care? Where do you feel connected to God and inspired by the Spirit’s call?

God grow your love deep in us.

Spirit, till the soil of our hearts, of our church, of our community, of our world, so that your love, hope, and life would grow here and everywhere.

May we bear good fruit, sharing with one another the love and hope and life you have grown in us.
